Travel Analytics Update

7 November 2019

The Travel Analytics development team have been busy pushing out changes to Mark II travel reporting application.  The following is a summary of the changes, including a few screenshots help make sense of it all.

Traveller Tracker Dashboard has gone Supersized

We have updated the map feature on travel tracker so the map renders to the whole screen making it easier for users to find the information they require (it's also great for presentations.

We have also added a link at the top of the map container which will open the latest DFAT bulletins when it is clicked.

Printable Report Update

We have updated the Airfare Expenditure table within the Printable Report to include the number of tickets issued along with the number of bookings.  This will help Travel Analytics customers understand the data when the average booking price appears overstated.

High average booking costs are common when a group booking is included in the data as there can be many tickets issued within the one group booking.

We have also applied a fix to the rental car report, so the current and previous period data displays correctly.

Overnight Trips without Accommodation

We have updated the click through table to display the itinerary summary to the user when users click on the Overnight Trips without Accommodation link within the Accommodation dashboard.

This allows users to see if flights have been made with the booking, as in some case, flights may not exist.  We have also updated the algorithms to exclude land only bookings.

Local Currency Indicator

We have added the base currency (TMC transaction currency) after the total spend column in raw data export.  This will allow users to see if the data has been converted to base currency (i.e. AUD or NZD).

Aggregated Room Type Codes

We have removed duplicates in the raw data export where the room type was changed within accommodation bookings.  Now when data is downloaded you will see the original room type will display along with the updated room type.

This effects a very small number of bookings within Travel Analytics.

Sabre Updates

We have updated the importers to update incorrect date within the data provided by Sabre (i.e. 31/12/2999 and NULL dates).

We have also updated the import scripts to consolidate service fee descriptions in the data.  This has significantly reduced the number of service fees displaying in the reports.
