Automatic Customer Name Updates
Throughout the years we created several hacks to manage changes to company names. While the 'hacks' worked, technically they were far from perfect. So in typical Travel Analytics fashion, we have stepped it up a notch and automated the process within Mark II.
If a customer name (debtor name) is updated within your mid-office (i.e. MOVETECH to MOVETECH AUSTRALIA) and the debtor code remains the same (i.e. MTECH), Travel Analytics will automatically update the data to the new name the next time data is imported for this customer.
This will only work if you only update the customer name and keep the debtor as is. If you update both, the customer names won’t merge as you have effectively created a new customer (debtor) and we will treat it as such (no matter how similar the codes look i.e. MTECH and MTECHAU).
If you need to merge the data for these customers, then you will need to group them using Report Hierarchy.
